August 16th
Fukagawa Hachiman Festival

Even though it is one of the 3great festivals, this one only takes lace every 3 years, so don’t miss the chance to see it this year. Since 1962, the festival is held at Tomioka Hachimangu, The special thing about this festival is its procession, during which the performers and shire carriers are splashed with water, for purifying reasons. Smaller processions and events will take place a few days before (from the 13th to 15th), but the main event is the 16th only.
